Product Launch: Dataflake Data Visualization Tool

Project Overview
Dataflake is a project built by internal team of Scaleflex. Later, it is decided to launch as a standalone product. It helps data analysts from SMBs and startups who are obsessed to tell better data story easily, quickly, and securely with  intuitive dashboard builder experience without design, security, and cost constraints.
My Contributions
As a product marketing specialist of the team, I am responsible for building marketing materials, creating strategies and overseeing all activities from ideation to execution. This features creating product positioning, and messaging throughout landing pages, blogs, video assets, social media and other marketing collateral.
Pre-Launch
March 2022 - March 2023
First time join the team, preparing marketing materials as:
- Wrote Content for website, revamping and moving content from JoliPage, Wordpress then Webflow.
- Built and wrote blog articles to get ready for the launch
- Support to do competitors analysis and regularly test their product to understand what they are doing.
- Wrote Content for Knowledge Base, switching from Helpdesk to Wordpress, then Opendocs and Gitbook.
- Set up social media accounts, group forums, seedings, etc.
- Created feature-released videos.
- Supported testing product and UI improvement.
- Crafted other Marketing materials .
Launch
April 2023 - April 2023
After the first two weeks of launching:
- Followers growing organically from 0 to 150 on Linkedin
- Gaining over 100 users and get a lot of feedbacks on User Interface and product itself, getting understanding on how to continue refining the product.
Post- Launch
May 2023 - November 2023
After the launch, though we got positive feedbacks on beautiful UI, however, we encountered 2 main problems:
1. We lost many interests after encountering a series of bugs that potentially cause of low user retention rate
2. We targeted on multiple audiences that might bar us from delivering clear message to the right audience.

Therefore, I paused a bit to:

- Support Product team to test product in order to stabilize the product based on feedback from usersInterview and validate users on improving the tools
- Network with data analyst gurus on the market in order get ready for the official launch
- Conducting interview and survey to targeted audience, whom are Senior Data Analysts from SMEs, to validate the product position and message on the hypothesis: “Whether highly customizable data visualization is a real problem faced by Data Analysts from SMEs” in order to clear the messages and continue with the marketing collateral

And we found that Highly customizable data visualization is indeed a need, but might not be a good enough USP. We need to redefine our customer segment for better product positioning and marketing messages

The targeted audience we should focus on is Data Analysts also care about creating effective data visual easily and fast and more advanced configurations for sharing and embedding

What we do next speaking of Marketing side:

- Promote new messaging and positioning
- Network and talk to even more users for further validation and Product Market Fit
- Create more product videos to highlight our unique differentiation and strengthen our “Interest” stage in the marketing funnel
- Increase efforts in marketing activities that will have more direct impact on sales to make our work for the “Awareness” stage more effective
- Be more involved in product improvements

VideosI created many types of videos including Introduction Videos,  Explainer Videos and Feature Videos, that were used for social media posts.

Landing PageI wrote content for all landing pages for Dataflake, that help when a prospect coming to the website, they understand what is Dataflake and how they can benefit from us.

BlogI divided into 3 blog categories . However I focused on comparison blogs and feature blogs to align the messages with the vision.
